The wider 400 x 86 x 53 is the popular upgrade for operators working soft or sensitive ground who need lower ground pressure and more flotation.
Which track should I choose?
- 320 x 86 x 53 C-lug — the default. Comfortable ride, low vibration, strong grip on hard surfaces and pavement. Choose this for general site work, landscaping and mixed conditions.
- 400 x 86 x 53 multi-bar — the wide option. Lower ground pressure and aggressive bars for mud, snow and soft soil. Choose this if you’re sinking or spinning on the standard track.
Will it fit my 259D?
These tracks are built to the same dimensional spec as the original Caterpillar fitment — same width, pitch and 53-link count, same steel-corded reinforced rubber construction. They run on the standard 259D sprockets and rollers and bolt straight on. If your machine has been set up with the wider 400mm undercarriage, order the 400 x 86 x 53. If you’re unsure which you’re running, measure the width across the ground-contact face or check the size stamped on the inside of your current track.
